When your document content leaves the device
By default, documents stay on your device.
Your document (or extracted text / relevant document context derived from it) is sent to Decodoc’s backend and AI service providers only when you explicitly start an action such as analysis, translation, an AI assistant request (for example a question about an analyzed document or help preparing a draft reply), or another document-processing feature that requires server or model processing.
Displaying suggested next questions or actions alone does not send an Assistant request. An Assistant request starts when you choose that action.
What happens during that processing (high level)
1. The app sends the minimum content needed for the requested operation (for Assistant: relevant document context plus your request). 2. Decodoc’s backend may prepare, route, or transform the request. 3. AI providers (see Subprocessors page) may process the text to return structured results. 4. Results are returned to the app; structured outputs are intended to be stored locally as part of the local-first model.
Backend processing is temporary and not a substitute for cloud document storage.
AI assistant outputs
When you use the Document Assistant, Decodoc may use relevant document context to:
- answer questions about an analyzed document;
- suggest optional next questions or actions;
- help prepare a draft reply.
Suggestions do not perform legal, administrative, or messaging actions for you. Draft replies are not sent automatically by Decodoc. Assistant answers and drafts are AI-generated, may be incomplete or inaccurate, and are informational / assistive only. Independently verify important legal, financial, medical, administrative, or deadline-related information against the original document or a qualified professional where needed.
What is not done with document content (by design)
Document content is not intended to be injected into analytics, crash reports, support_debug_events, or routine backend logs. Support may use separate channels and must avoid collecting document text unless you choose to send it.
Subscriptions
Subscriptions (Apple / Google / RevenueCat) control access and limits; they do not mean your full document library is uploaded to EIREEN Tech as default cloud storage.
