1. Local documents on your device
- Documents, analysis, translations, previews, and history are stored on your device by default (local-first).
- You can delete individual documents or all local app data from Settings → Data & Memory in Decodoc.
- Uninstalling the app may remove local data depending on iOS/Android behaviour and backups; do not rely on uninstall alone if you need a secure wipe—use explicit delete steps in the app when available.
2. In-app account deletion
Signed-in Decodoc users can delete their server-side account in the app:
1. Open Settings 2. Tap Account 3. Scroll to Account deletion and tap Delete account 4. Confirm both prompts
Account deletion removes service-layer Decodoc account data held for that account on our servers, including profile, subscription status mirrors, and usage history, subject to legal retention (tax, fraud prevention, etc.).
Local documents on your device are not deleted automatically. Remove them separately in Settings → Data & Memory if you want them erased from this device.
3. Subscription cancellation (Apple / Google)
Deleting a Decodoc account or local app data does not automatically cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription.
Decodoc offers paid subscriptions through the app stores. To stop future charges:
- Android: open Settings → Account → Plans → Manage subscription in Decodoc (opens Google Play subscription management), or cancel in your Google Play account under Payments and subscriptions → Subscriptions.
- iOS: cancel in Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions, or use store guidance from Apple.
Cancel or manage your store subscription before or alongside account deletion if you no longer want to be billed. Billing relationships remain with the stores and RevenueCat per their policies.
4. If you cannot access the app or your account
If you cannot sign in or use in-app deletion, contact:
Include the email address used for the account and enough detail to verify identity without sending full document contents in email unless you choose to.
5. What may be retained after deletion
Statutory and legitimate retention (e.g. accounting invoices, minimal security logs) may apply as determined with counsel.
